What our clients say about us:

"Thank you so much, there is so much valuable information here & I’ll be sure to take time to digest it all. Yesterday’s appointment was such a great experience for me, I felt so listened to & not rushed. There is no way my GP would have been able to provide the time needed to explore my situation & I’m so pleased I took the plunge to contact you." MF, York.

"I found the session really useful, I was given the time and space so that I felt listened to and understood. This is the first time in my menopause journey that I have experienced this and came away from our session feeling that I have a plan of action and insight into why I have been feel like I have been.
Mel explained everything real well and gave me tons of good advice. Thank you so much." KF, Lancashire.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from my first consultation?

Your first consultation will involve a detailed discussion about your symptoms, medical history, and any concerns you have. It's a safe space for you to be heard and for us to determine the best way forward together.
Initial Consultations will last for up to 40 minutes. You will be emailed a pre-consult health questionnaire to complete and return prior to your consultation. This gives Your Menopause Nurse time to consider the information you've shared and allows more time in your consultation to listen to your concerns and less time spent asking questions.

After your consultation you will receive a same day report from us direct to your email address and this will highlight what has been discussed and agreed. Should you wish to try HRT, we can prescribe this for you using our integrated private pharmacy platform and you will have the treatment delivered straight to your door within a few days.
You will be asked to pay for this separately prior to placing your order. Private prescriptions for standard, uncomplicated HRT medications do not cost much more than NHS prescriptions and prices are set by the online dispensing pharmacy.

*Please note while we await the approval of our application to the Care Quality Commission which will allow us to prescribe HRT, we are currently only able to provide discounted advice-only consultations with a same day report issued to your inbox. This report can then be shared with your GP to help you receive the treatment discussed during our consultation.

Why do Menopause Consultations cost what they do?

We want to be 100% upfront with our clients about pricing. When you book an Initial consultation at Your Menopause Nurse, you're not only paying for a 40 minute video appointment. Behind the scenes, Your Menopause Nurse will be preparing well in advance of your video consultation and among other things they will be sending you a thorough pre-consultation health questionnaire to complete and check this through in advance, as well as gathering potential information and guidance to share with you after your consult.
Following your appointment we will take time to construct a robust report to send to you on the same day as well as any other relevant resources which we feel could help you.
As with any credible healthcare service, there are costly insurances that we must have in place ( far too many to mention ) as well as mandatory Care Quality Commission ( CQC )  registration which we must have when we offer prescribing. Then there's the tech outlay, our essential video and record keeping service, the pharmacy platform, security buffers, prescribing logistics, necessary educational, professional and organisational memberships and ongoing training to attend. This ensures that every client we see receives the most thorough, up to date advice, guidance and support.

In short - a consultation with us is so much more than what you'll ever see. We genuinely hope that the hard earned cash you choose to spend on your menopause healthcare is money that is well invested.

When a consultation with Your Menopause Nurse is over, we want nothing more than for you to feel relieved, empowered and most importantly - cared for.

How do I know which treatment is right for me?

As experienced, trained menopause nurses we will discuss your treatment options alongside consideration of your health, your lifestyle, and your own preferences. We aim to provide you with all the necessary information, making your treatment decision an informed one. We can also send you further information after your consultation to help support your choice of treatment
Finding the right treatment and using it at the dose which tackles your symptoms most effectively can take some time, but we will help guide you through this and we're here to support you when you need us to.

I think I need Testosterone - can you help?

Testosterone is available in the UK as an off-license treatment to women who are struggling with the symptom of low libido and who are already established on HRT. Testosterone was originally tested and manufactured for men only, but it has since been shown in clinical trials to help women with low libido and is used in much smaller doses. Testosterone can help some, but not all women. Inadvertantly, some women using testosterone report relief or improvement in other symptoms rather than an increased libido. Currently, we require more clinical evidence to prove this.
A serum blood test to check your tetosterone level will be required before testosterone can be prescribed. We cannot prescribe testostreone to you without your serum blood test results.
( apologies, but finger prick samples are not accepted ) You can ask your GP to facilitate this blood test and you can then send the result to us using the Support mailbox (support@yourmenopausenurse.co.uk ) prior to your consultation and please include your full name and date of birth in the email.
We would then advise that you have the test repeated at 3 and then  6 months after starting testosterone treatment to ensure your levels are within safe limits. It should then be checked annually after this.

If you are already established on HRT, but are new to Your Menopause Nurse, we ask that you attend an Initial Consultation with us, as our 20 minute follow up consultations would not be long enough to check through your medical history, your HRT, existing symptoms and to discuss the Testosterone options with you.

Can you give me HRT after I’ve had cancer?

Many oncologists and specialists are now more open to the idea of shared decision making to help people manage menopausal symptoms and side effects following cancer treatment.
As an online menopause consultation service we fully support this approach and can discuss potential treatment options with you. Although we would be unable to prescribe you HRT directly, you can utilise the report we send to you after your consultation to open up discussions with your GP who may then liaise with your cancer specialists to consider the treatment options you are interested in.

Do I need high doses of Oestrogen to manage my symptoms?

There has been some discussion in the media recently about the prescribing of very high doses of oestrogen in private clinics and the potentially negative effect this has had on a small number of people.
Your Menopause Nurse Ltd strictly adheres to the robust clinical advice and guidance offered by both the British Menopause Society (BMS) and the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) and will not prescribe over the recommended licensed oestrogen dose to help ensure our clients safety when using their HRT.

You might not always require the use of higher doses of oestrogen to help you feel better. Ensuring the type of HRT you are using is being absorbed adequately and that it is being applied correctly is a good first step to take.
We also recommend considering these factors alongside an overall review of your diet and lifestyle and the impact of any other potential health conditions. This will help ensure that you get the most out of your HRT.

Can I access your services from anywhere in the UK?

Our services are fully online, meaning you can access nurse-led, tailored perimenopause & postmenopause healthcare from the comfort of your own home, almost anywhere in the UK.

We are currently unable to assist you if you are based in the ROI.

Can I book an appointment if I'm already using HRT?

Absolutely. Many of our clients are already using HRT when they come to see us. Our consultations offer the time and expertise to review your current treatment, explore how it's working for you, and consider any adjustments or additional support that may help. Whether you're just starting out or have been on HRT for a while, we're here to help you feel your best.
